About the Award

The Hong Kong ICT Awards (HKICTA) was established in 2006 with collaborative efforts from the industry, academia, and the Government. Organized by the Digital Policy Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and led by Hong Kong’s ICT industry associations and professional bodies, the Awards aim at recognizing and promoting outstanding information and communications technology (ICT) inventions and applications. The HKICTA encourages innovation and excellence among Hong Kong’s ICT talent and enterprises in their constant pursuit of creative and better solutions to meet business and social needs.

Wilson’s team was recognized for the GABES AlphaNexus System (GABES 智能樓宇應急系統), a next-generation AIoT fire safety system that enhances situational awareness and optimizes evacuation efficiency in real-world fire emergencies. This innovative system integrates:

  • Edge AI Fire Detection: Advanced artificial intelligence for rapid fire identification

The GABES AlphaNexus delivers a fully connected, intelligent fire protection solution for schools, office buildings, shopping malls, and residential complexes. The system has been rigorously validated through full-scale fire drills involving real smoke and heat conditions, and is backed by academic research, field trials, and official recognition from industry and government bodies.
