Welcome Spanish Exchange Students Jorge and Santi to CALAS!

CALAS warmly welcomes Jorge Prol García and Santiago Pumar Vázquez (Santi), exchange students from Spain, as they join the group at City University of Hong Kong.

We are delighted to welcome two exchange students from Spain to CALAS under the supervision of Prof. Ray C. C. Cheung. Jorge and Santi recently joined the group at the Department of Electrical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong.

Jorge Prol García is a fourth-year student of a dual degree in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Electronic and Automatic Engineering at the University of Vigo. He is currently an exchange student at City University of Hong Kong. His interests include sensor design, FPGA, robotics, PCB design, biomedical electronics, and medical device engineering.

Santiago Pumar Vázquez (Santi) is completing a Dual Degree in Biomedical and Industrial Electronics. His interests include medical AI and robotics, control systems, biomedical electronic systems, reconfigurable hardware, and signal processing. He joins CityU CALAS to work on hardware architectures.

Their electrical engineering programme in Spain is a five-year degree, the same duration as the EE programme in Egypt. This longer student pathway offers valuable time to gain expertise and broader exposure before entering the job market.

A warm welcome to Jorge and Santi as they begin their exchange with CALAS. We look forward to working with them.
